QEI Exec Project Management Software: Graphics, Frames and Hotspots
QEI Exec's CAD heritage comes into its own when you want to integrate a variety of information and display it in one view, offering an unrivalled range of functions specifically designed to keep you in the picture.
The diagram above shows a sheet in the standard example QEI Exec database which combines a number of key features:
- A graphical symbol (the helicopter) imported from an external system.
- Text and graphics inserted onto the sheet, including dynamic text - text data which dynamically renders information from the database (the dates in the project status box).
- Frames (two shown on the right hand side of the sheet) which display the contents of other sheets in the database and are dynamically updated as the database contents change.
- In addition any symbol can be made into a hotspot (similar to a web hyperlink) which will jump to another sheet in the database or run a predefined command.
- All QEI Exec objects are associated with a layer, and therefore can be displayed or hidden simply by controlling the visibility of the appropriate layers.
This range of navigation and annotation features provides the basic tools for constructing full featured management interfaces to the data within a QEI database, allowing you to create menus, status screens and so on.
