SmartDraw® is the quick and easy way to create project management charts such as gantt charts, pert charts, flowcharts, organisational charts, time lines, decision matrices, presentations and more.
Whenever you wish to display any kind of hierarchy a project organisational chart is your solution. It can be used to show the organisation within a project or a breakdown structure of a project.
To create an organisational chart you usually start with the top and begin to break it down to the next level below. The same job you do with this level below and so on until you arrive at a detailed level that satisfies your requirements.
SmartDraw® is great for any kind of organisational charts. In the example below you can see a sample of an horizontal organisational chart provided by SmartDraw®:

SmartDraw® enables the user to easily create Gantt Charts and fill them with details. To get started right away SmartDraw® provides the user with templates.
To add data to the Gantt Chart the user can select a start date and an end date. Next the Gantt Chart is filled with task by adding a description of a task. The duration of the task is simply set by dragging the bar. For additional tasks this step is repeated.
To add milestones the user selects one of the provided symbols and places it within the Gantt Chart. A pre-defined legend of the Gantt Chart can be edited to explain the meaning of bars and symbols. Of course, the user can edit colours, add text and much more to make the Gantt Chart suit exactly to the needs.

Pert chart are typically used for projects that involve numerous contractors, departments and organisations where the duration times are hard to define and the relationships between tasks are complex.
Each PERT chart starts with an initial point from which all tasks originate. Each subsequent task is connected to other tasks and is either coded or annotated with its name, the people assigned to, and its best, worst and average duration time. The chart is completed when all networked tasks come together to a completion point.
SmartDraw® contains an excellent library for creating fine looking PERT charts that can be quickly understood because of their design. Please see a sample of a PERT chart provided by SmartDraw®:

A flowchart is a graphic illustrating a sequence, typically a process. By visualising the process, a flowchart can help to identify gaps, bottlenecks, inefficiencies where the process can be streamlined or improved.
A basic flowchart identifies the starting and ending points of a process (an oval), the sequence of actions in the process (a rectangle), and the decision or branching points (a diamond) along the way.

SmartDraw® is designed to help you draw flowcharts quickly and easily. One sample provided by SmartDraw® is shown below:

Project templates are documents that serve to record everything happening in a project. The need for project management templates is huge and project management templates exist in a broad variety. SmartDraw® allows to create templates quickly. As a graphic software SmartDraw® enables the user to make the template look exactly as needed
The user can take advantage of SmartDraw's® excellent library for creating appealing templates. A sample of an Estimate Sheet provided by SmartDraw® is shown below:
