Training Management Software: Training Gap Analysis
The Training Gap Wizard allows you to look at the educational requirements of job codes and certifications and compare that with the requirements met (or classes taken) for company employees. The wizard then builds a classes required versus employee matrix and allows you to create a schedule of classes to be taken.
Training Gap Analysis Wizard
Select the type of training Gap Analysis
- Existing Job Code and Certifications for selected Employee(s): Current employees may be in jobs or position for which they have not met all of the educational requirements. Or current employees may still have to take global training like Safety Training or the Company Quality Policy class. Selecting this option will find every job code and certification associated with each employee and determine what training classes/requirements have not been taken or fulfilled.
- New Job Code or Certification Level for One Employee: Say you have an employee that wants to go from Production Supervisor to Production Manager. You can run this wizard for this person and decide what educational requirements have to be met to be promoted to that next position. Or say you want to take three employees and make them Internal Auditors in addition to their regular position. You could select those three employees, select the job code/certification of "Internal Auditor" and find all classes that they need to take.
- Re-certification for Employee(s) -- Re-training Coming Due: Some training needs to be done over again at certain intervals. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), General Safety Training, and others come to mind. Choosing this option will allow you to see what "retraining" needs to be in the near future.
The next step is to select names to run the training gap analysis. This is slightly different depending on the choice you made in the wizard.
Performing Training Gap Analysis and Create Schedule
There are three options you can select from:
- View Training Requirements: This button starts the actual analysis process and then displays the results in a new window.
- Printing Training Requirements: This allows you to print the list created by the gap analysis.
- Create Training Records: This option takes all of the items created in the gap analysis and creates training records with schedule dates that you provide. The program will NOT create new training records if scheduled training classes (but not yet completed) are already present.
